I'm Back!!!
Let's catch up on the real tea, shall we?
My last post, which is now long gone, was posted on November 11th, 2012. It was a book post on Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games. It is safe to say that a lot has changed since then. Though a lot of things have changed, a lot hasn't. I still struggle with Lupus and RND (reflex neurovascular dystrophy). I have gone through many low points in the past seven years, but I have also been immensely blessed with twice as many highs. I can't remember enough of the roller coaster ride to share it all with you, so I will just go over the most important parts, being the most recent.
My view and action toward my education have taken a complete 180, now more than ever, since I am a senior in high school. My high school offers a program called running start which allows juniors and seniors to attend classes at our local community college, accumulate our needed credits to graduate, and begin our credits for college. I started this program at the beginning of my junior year, impulsively, and it has been the greatest decision I have ever made. High school itself was not my cup of tea. When I graduate from high school, I will have enough credits to qualify as a junior in university. I love the challenge of college courses and it is a much better fit for me. I have decided that I want to study psychology in uni, but I am dabbling in biology courses right now because that is also an interest of mine. Ideally, I will be incorporate them both.
My biggest blessing this past year was meeting my boyfriend, named Wesley. He is amazingly talented and gifted in sports and I love watching him do his thing. He is an amazing guy, has an amazing family, and every time we're together, I'm smiling and laughing.
Apart from school and my relationship, I have started my first job a few months ago at the Boys and Girls club. It has been a great challenge, but also a great reward. I love it, my coworkers, and the kids I work with. A career that I am questioning is pediatric psychology. I believe everything happens for a reason and since I was put at this organization it might be my calling. It's definitely too soon to know.
I have been doing all these things, while still struggling daily with my auto-immunes. My main purpose of this re-introduction blog post is to reinforce the fact that there has always been a rock in my shoe, a matter of fact, there is a rock in all of our shoes, but the most successful people have the ability to conquer this discomfort and continue to walk along the path.
